Washington State PrEP DAP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Drug Assistance Program)
PrEP DAP is a state funded program that helps eligible HIV-negative enrollees with the costs of medications and medical/lab services to reduce barriers and increase access to PrEP services.

What is PrEP?
PrEP is a biomedical intervention used for HIV prevention. One pill - once a day will provide coverage for an HIV-negative individual who is at high risk of accquiring HIV. While, PrEP will prevent HIV, it does not prevent sexually transmitted infections so condoms are still recommended.
What services does PrEP DAP offer?
PrEP DAP offers the following services:
Medication Assistance – PrEP DAP pays for certain PrEP and other medication costs listed on the approved formulary. PrEP DAP enrollees are assigned a group number which gives them access to the medications on the formulary based on their enrollment status. The pharmacy must be contracted with Ramsell for program to be able to pay.
Medical & Lab Services - PrEP DAP pays for medical and lab costs incurred by PrEP DAP enrollees. Claims are submitted to the WA State Department of Health (not Ramsell). Provider must be contracted with WA State Department of Health Early Intervention Program for the Department to be able to pay.
Am I Eligible?
Basic eligiblity requirements for PrEP DAP are:
- Washington State Resident
- HIV-negative
- At High Risk for HIV
Please Note: PrEP DAP is payer of last resort. Some enrollees may be required to use other programs before PrEP DAP.
How Do I Enroll?
To enroll with PrEP DAP, go to Washington State Department of Health's website.
You will have the option to apply online or you can print a paper application and submit it to:

What Documents Are Needed?
The documents you will need for sumbission:
- Proof of Identity (New Clients)
- Proof of Washington State Residency
- Copy of your Insurance Card or Medicare Card(if applicable)
- HIV & Health Status Information Form
