Ramsell Expands Partnership with Alameda County to Include Pharmacy Benefits Management for Behavioral Health Program

Oakland, Calif., October 08, 2013 – Ramsell, a leading provider of innovative solutions for organizations that serve the underserved, today announced a new partnership with Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services to provide pharmacy benefits management services to more than 900 low-income mental health patients.

Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services (ACBHCS) provides mental health and substance abuse services through a comprehensive network of public and private partnerships. Ramsell will establish and oversee a county-wide network of almost 50 pharmacies to improve patient access to medication while managing claims adjudication, reimbursement and utilization reporting through its RamsellPBM™ solution.

"Providing a seamless pharmacy system that allows timely access to medications while managing costs has always been a top priority at Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services," said Charles Raynor, Senior Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Operations Lead, Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services. "Ramsell has dedicated the last 40 years to working with the underserved populations and is well acquainted with our needs. Partnering with Ramsell will allow ACBHCS to better reach our mission in maximizing the recovery and wellness of all eligible Alameda County residents experiencing a serious mental health, alcohol or drug concern."

In addition to serving ACBHCS patients, Ramsell will continue managing the HealthPAC HIV drug program, providing pharmacy benefits management services and discounted medication through the federal 340B drug pricing program to approximately 700 low-income HIV/AIDS patients.

"As an Alameda County-based company, Ramsell is proud to work with the County in its mission to provide comprehensive care for all its residents," said Sophia Byndloss, Division President, Business Services. "With a long-history of working with underserved patients, we know that providing easy access to medication and services is critical."
