Ramsell Partners With Drug Assistant to Help Clinics and Hospitals Increase Patient Access to Medications

OAKLAND, Calif., February 21, 2012 – Ramsell, a pharmacy benefit and 340B solutions provider, today announced a partnership with Drug Assistant, a leading provider of Patient Assistance Program (PAP) management software, to help clinics and hospitals increase access to medications for patients who are unable to pay.

"As a 340B program manager, we see the increased need for PAP medications," said Eric Flowers, CEO of Ramsell. "Our partnership with Drug Assistant will help our clients provide PAP medications to eligible patients at reduced or no cost, and fulfill our mission of serving the underserved and improving patient outcomes. Our common goal is to connect patients to the medications they need."

Drug Assistant's web-based software empowers healthcare providers with a cost-effective solution to automate the PAP application process and to ensure access to medications for their patients. PAP programs assist qualified patients that are uninsured, underinsured, and meet eligibility guidelines established by the pharmaceutical manufacturer to receive prescriptions for free or at a discounted rate. The Drug Assistant application reduces the financial burden by healthcare providers that are currently funding patient medications.

Ramsell helps hospitals and clinics increase access, improve outcomes and reduce costs with comprehensive solutions that maximize the value of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, which provides significant savings on medications. Ramsell applies nearly 20 years of in-depth expertise to help clinics and hospitals implement and manage this complex, regulated program. The savings generated from these programs allow healthcare facilities to increase patient services, serve more patients and improve patient outcomes.

"This is an ideal partnership, as we are both focused on increasing medication access, and we applaud Ramsell's passion to serve the underserved," said Brett Dennis, VP Business Development at Drug Assistant. "We admire their work and are excited that Drug Assistant can be a part of making a difference to those in the community that need it the most."
