Ramsell Pharmacy Solutions Secures Oregon Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Contract
Integrated solution will improve medication adherence for state ADAP participants
Oakland, Calif., October 11, 2011 - Ramsell Pharmacy Solutions, a clinical and pharmacy services company, announced today that it is working with the Oregon Health Authority to help qualified patients in the state AIDS Drug Assistance Program better manage their prescription regimens through a tailored medication therapy management program. The Ramsell Care Continuum is the first integrated solution designed specifically for an ADAP program to address the unique needs of HIV/AIDS patients.
In implementing Ramsell's solution, the Oregon ADAP program, CAREAssist, aims to help improve therapeutic outcomes for participants while reducing overall patient care costs. The Ramsell Care Continuum combines innovative software with the expertise of in-house clinical pharmacists to educate and counsel patients on medication adherence and to deliver comprehensive clinical services. The MTM encounter between the pharmacist and program member results in the development of an action plan that helps participants stick to their prescription regimens. Through regular contact with patients and their healthcare providers, the solution also helps to minimize barriers to effective medication therapy by identifying and avoiding drug interactions and adverse events.

The Ramsell Care Continuum is available as either a centralized MTM solution leveraging the experience and knowledge of Ramsell clinical pharmacists and technicians or as a customizable and scalable software solution for a sponsor to use in a decentralized MTM program using community pharmacists. The solution is one of several offered by Ramsell, which has more than 15 years of experience in managing state drug assistance programs, including those in California, Washington, Texas, Delaware and Colorado.
