Ramsell Secures Oregon 340B Contract

Solution improves patients' access to medications, eliminates errors and reduces cost

Oakland, Calif., September 20, 2011 — Ramsell, a pharmacy benefit and information management company, today announced it is working with the Oregon Health Authority to provide its 340B Contract Pharmacy Management Solution to help manage the state's AIDS Drug Assistance Program. Ramsell's solution helps to streamline administration and management of the delivery of pharmacy services, while maximizing program funds.

Oregon's ADAP, CAREAssist, provides medication to 2,800 low-income HIV/AIDS patients through the 340B drug pricing program, which was established by the federal government to extend financial relief for specific organizations providing care and services to some of the country's most vulnerable individuals. In addition to streamlining the overall process, Ramsell's 340B solution also takes advantage of recent federal legislation to increase patients' access to medication through the establishment of a state-wide 340B contract pharmacy network that includes 40 contracted independent and chain pharmacies. Oregon ADAP's 340B contract pharmacy network is one of the most wide reaching and complex networks. The establishment of this network ensures patient access while enabling Oregon ADAP access to the 340B discount as a direct purchase ADAP state.

"At Ramsell, we understand that many state public health programs are challenged with providing valuable patient services with limited budgets. Our 340B Contract Pharmacy Management Solution is designed to help the Oregon Health Authority reduce its administrative costs for the CAREAssist program and instead focus on what matters the most: patient care," explained Sophia Byndloss, president of Ramsell.

The Ramsell 340B solution combines pharmacy management services such as claims adjudication and utilization reporting along with a robust platform that provides specific features to manage and track 340B inventory, prevent drug diversion and determine patient eligibility. The solution is one of several offerings in Ramsell's pharmacy benefit management portfolio. The company has more than 15 years of experience in managing pharmacy benefits and 340B drug programs, including those in California, Washington, Texas, Delaware and Colorado.
