County of San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health Selects Ramsell to Provide Pharmacy Benefit Management Services
Oakland, Calif., July 1, 2009 – Ramsell, a pharmacy benefit and information management company, today announced it was selected to provide services for the County of San Bernardino's Department of Behavioral Health (DBH).
DBH provides mental health treatment and services to County residents that promote prevention, intervention and recovery. Ramsell will administer the pharmacy benefits program for up to approximately 15,000 patients who are being treated by DBH physicians throughout San Bernardino county, but do not have insurance coverage of their own. Last year, DBH processed close to 39,000 medication claims for these patients.
In addition to providing traditional pharmacy benefit management services such as claims processing, medication dispensation and clinical support, Ramsell will provide data and management tools to improve efficiency at the point of care.
