DEPARTMENT: Clinical Services
JOB TITLE: Pharmacy Network Contract Specialist (PNCS)
REPORTS TO: Pharmacy Network Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: N/A

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The PNCS is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the pharmacy data loaded into the Ramsell systems and oversees the credentialing process for each program. PNCS also manages Independent pharmacy contracting process.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for loading new pharmacies into Ramsell systems
  • Responsible for updating pharmacy data in Ramsell systems
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the payment and remit information loaded into Ramsell systems
  • Responsible for managing chain pharmacy notifications about new store openings, address changes, closures, updated licenses etc.
  • Responsible for credentialing pharmacies including doing board of pharmacy searches on independent pharmacies
  • Manage the independent pharmacy contracting process including sending documents to on-boarding the pharmacy into Ramsell systems and electronically filing the contract
  • Responsible for ensuring that PHS data are accurately captured so that reports to program sponsors are accurate

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for timely and professional interaction with all Ramsell operational areas
  • Assist with other Ramsell projects and initiatives as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy while processing pharmacy records
  • Experience working for a health plan, PBM or large provider group in provider relations
  • Ability to understand Ramsell programs (ADAP Insured Enrollee networks vs 340B networks)
  • Good analytic and problem solving skills are essential
  • A good understanding of provider networks; understanding of 340B would be helpful
  • Ability to effectively interact with Account Managers and other stakeholders about pharmacy issues
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects in a timely manner

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree desired in Health Services, Business Administration or a related field; or equivalent health care operation experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 to 2 years of healthcare operations experience working with providers
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (80% to 100%) of the workday
  • Close vision required
