JOB TITLE: Business Process Analyst
REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer
DIRECT REPORTS: N/A
FLSA Status: Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
Acts as the liaison between internal clients and Ramsell Technology departments by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems. Completes business cases in support of projects. Participates in or facilitates business process modeling and research efforts. Understands business and system requirements that drive the analysis and design of system for enhancements and project implementations. Acts as a consultant and reviews all documents on project teams.
MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES:
- Acts as a liaison between product engineering and internal clients units by:
- Provides a single point of contact for business units into product engineering and acts as a conduit between the two organizations.
- Proactively conducts interviews with all stakeholders to elicit detailed business and/or functional requirements, modeling requirements in an organized manner.
- Manage and communicate requirements throughout the system enhancement or project life cycle
- Ensures unique business needs are properly translated to provide a system solution
- Recommends changes to configurations and/or software enhancements to improve efficiency and service
- Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet or exceed business requirements
- Prepare specifications for product and/or system changes
- Recommends and initiates systems testing for product enhancements
- Act as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies
- Participates in root cause analysis in order to recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for both the business units and IT
- Maintain open lines of communication to monitor and improve customer satisfaction with IT
- May act as a project manager on some projects
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- Proven excellent documentation and writing skills
- Knowledge and understanding of Business and Process Analysis best/standard practices, techniques and tools
- Ability to understand and apply project management methodologies
- Basic programming, development or technical knowledge
- Must be able to clearly understand and articulate the project(s) requirements
- Excellent communication, analytical, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Data process modeling ability, knowledge of competition, and industry developments
EDUCATION:
- BS in Business or Computer Science
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3-7 years experience with business operations or systems development, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two large-scale projects to have developed a deep knowledge of the application and development of structured step-wise use cases
- Recent experience in developing wire frames for both web and client server applications
- Minimum of 3-7 years experience in developing conceptual and logical data models
- Deep proficiently of using MSOffice based tools
- Project management experience a significant plus, PMP
- Ability to present information both visually and in document form.
- Ability to facilitate meetings
- Ability to understand technical implication of requirements developed and sanity check technical design
- High attention to detail, excellent communicator both verbal and written
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (80% to 100%) of the workday
